The Hoppers’ Halt

RUSTIC RAILWAY CARRIAGE IN THE GARDEN OF ENGLAND

The latest addition to the Hoppers’ Hideaways aims to reflect the rich history of hop growing in the area and the summer migration of thousands of people by train for their annual hop picking ‘holiday’. It has been loosely designed to resemble a railway carriage, however it is more luxurious than the version that the hop pickers would have travelled in!

Pet friendly

dOGS, CATS, BIRDS AND EVEN HORSES,

WE ACCOMMODATE ALL WELL-BEHAVED PETS!

We understand that pets are more than just animals – they're beloved members of the family. That’s why at The Hoppers’ Hideaways, all well-behaved pets are welcome.

We charge a one-off fee of £10 per pet which can be settled on departure. For dogs, we provide them with a bed, water bowl, poo bag, treat and a towel for your four-legged friend’s muddy paws. For other pets, please bring the supplies they need.

If you would like to go out for the day without your four legged companion, we may be able to provide doggy day care for a small additional fee. Please get in contact to discuss which option would best suit your pet (pop in visits/walks or accommodation with our family pets in the farmhouse).

Local walks

Walks available from our doorstep

Whether you are looking for a short stroll followed by a glass of wine at Balfour vineyard, or are looking to work up an appetite for a pub lunch at The Goudhurst Inn or The Milk House, there are options for everyone.

Our favourite places for walking include Sissinghurst Castle on a summer’s evening followed by a cream tea, and Rye Harbour Nature Reserve with a Knoops hot chocolate in hand to keep us warm during a windy beach walk.

Suggested walks can be found in the guidebook but we are happy to recommend others or plan bespoke routes to suit your requirements.

We came to escape from our routine and reality and instantly found peace! We loved every inch of this place. We couldn’t have wished for a better nights sleep, the bed is so comfortable. Despite the weather we enjoyed the hot tub and even managed some star gazing. We had everything we needed and will definitely be back soon. Perfect in every way! - January 2024
